Doctor of Educational Ministry Christian Counseling

Program Overview

The Doctor of Educational Ministry in Christian Counseling program is a forty-five (45) semester hour program. The program features teachings from key Bible books and advanced teaching in the field of biblical counseling. The program does not require a Doctoral Project or Dissertation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

NCCA Certification is not a state license. It is recognition by a quality faith-based organization that certifies that the student has successfully completed the requirements set forth by NCCA for competent biblical counseling.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE DOCTORAL STUDENTS ALREADY HOLDING THE NCCA LICENSE

Students who have completed the NCCA faith-based license program may enter into the Doctor Educational Ministry in Christian Counseling with ADVANCED STANDING. Students who fall into this category will receive advanced training in two to three areas of concentration, which are listed below. The ATS Christian Counseling Department will assist you in selecting your areas of interest and in rounding out your program to bring your total semester hours to thirty-six (36) semester hours.

  • Child & Adolescence Therapy
  • Substance Abuse & Addiction Therapy
  • Sexual Therapy
  • Death & Grief Therapy
  • Cognitive Therapy & Ethics
  • Crisis & Abuse Therapy
  • Temperament Therapy
  • Domestic Violence & Abuse (Must be coupled with Crisis & Abuse Therapy)

Students also will be required to complete a Research Project after completing their NCCA coursework. The Research Project will require students to research integrating the Bible into Christian Counseling.
