General Program Overview
The Graduate of Theology degree program is a RESEARCH-BASED program, requiring purchase of additional textbooks. The program is offered in five majors that lead to the Bachelor of Theology degree. Students must complete sixty (60) semester hours of Core Curriculum and then an additional fifteen (15) hours of major coursework, for a total of seventy-five (75) semester hours.
Th.G. Degree Majors and Overview
Preaching & Evangelism
The Graduate of Theology (Th.G.) in Preaching & Evangelism is a 75-credit hour undergraduate-level diploma designed to provide a solid foundation in biblical preaching, gospel proclamation, and local church evangelism. This program prepares students to communicate God’s Word faithfully and lead evangelistic efforts grounded in Baptist doctrine and biblical conviction.
Rooted in the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, the curriculum combines Bible survey, theology, homiletics, and personal evangelism training. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of sermon preparation, delivery, and strategic outreach, equipping them for gospel-centered ministry in both local and cross-cultural contexts.
The Th.G. in Preaching & Evangelism also serves as the first phase of the Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.) in Preaching & Evangelism. All 75 credit hours are fully transferrable into the 120-credit hour Th.B. program, allowing students to continue seamlessly toward a full bachelor’s degree with no loss of academic progress.
Biblical Studies
The Graduate of Theology (Th.G.) in Biblical Studies is a 75-credit hour undergraduate-level degree program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in biblical interpretation, theology, and ministry practice. Rooted in a high view of Scripture and a Baptist theological framework, this program equips students to understand, teach, and apply the Word of God in local church contexts.
Students will explore the content, themes, and theological message of both the Old and New Testaments, develop skills in biblical hermeneutics, and study core doctrines essential to the Christian faith. This program is ideal for lay leaders, ministry volunteers, and those preparing for advanced theological training.
The Th.G. program is structured to allow for direct transition into the Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.) in Biblical Studies program. Upon successful completion of the Th.G., students may continue seamlessly into the Th.B. degree, applying all 75 credits toward the 120-credit hour Th.B. requirement.
Pastoral Care & Counseling
The Theology Graduate (Th.G.) in Pastoral Care & Counseling is a 75-credit hour undergraduate diploma program designed to equip students with the biblical, theological, and practical foundations necessary for compassionate ministry and effective pastoral care. Grounded in a Baptist theological framework, the program prepares students to serve individuals and families in times of spiritual, emotional, and relational need.
The curriculum integrates courses in Bible, theology, and spiritual formation with core counseling skills such as listening, empathy, crisis intervention, and ethical practice in ministry settings. Students are prepared for service as lay counselors, pastoral caregivers, or ministry leaders within the local church.
This program also functions as a direct-entry pathway into the Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.) in Pastoral Care & Counseling. Upon successful completion of the Th.G., students may transition seamlessly into the Th.B. program, applying all 75 credits toward the 120-credit degree requirement.
Church Administration & Church Growth
The Theology Graduate (Th.G.) in Church Administration & Growth is a 75-credit hour undergraduate diploma program designed to equip future ministry leaders with a strong foundation in biblical leadership, organizational development, and church health strategies. Rooted in a Baptist theological framework, the program prepares students to serve in administrative, pastoral, or support leadership roles within the local church and other ministry contexts.
This program emphasizes practical ministry training alongside biblical and theological studies, focusing on leadership principles, stewardship, team-building, ministry systems, and evangelism-driven church growth. Students will develop core skills in planning, communication, conflict resolution, and strategic visioning—all grounded in Scripture and the mission of the church.
The Th.G. program functions as a seamless pathway into the Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.) in Church Administration & Growth. Upon completion, all 75 credits transfer directly into the Th.B., allowing students to continue their studies toward the 120-credit hour bachelor’s degree without repeating coursework.
Christian Apologetics & Worldview
The Theology Graduate (Th.G.) in Christian Apologetics & Worldview is a 75-credit hour undergraduate diploma program that lays a biblical, theological, and philosophical foundation for defending the Christian faith and engaging contemporary culture. Designed from a Baptist perspective, this program equips students with the tools to articulate and defend a biblical worldview in response to competing ideologies, skepticism, and moral confusion.
Courses cover biblical theology, apologetics, philosophy, ethics, cultural engagement, and major worldviews. Students are trained to think critically and theologically, speak persuasively, and minister effectively in evangelism, discipleship, and public theology.
The Th.G. in Christian Apologetics & Worldview serves as a direct-entry track into the Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.) in Christian Apologetics & Worldview. All 75 credit hours transfer fully into the 120-credit Th.B. program, allowing students to continue seamlessly into advanced undergraduate study.

All Th.G. programs lead to an accompanying Bachelor of Theology degree, which requires sixty credit hours in major-related courses. Up to fifteen of the major-related courses may be taken at the Th.G. level.
